BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott outfielder Caleb Shpur (East Canaan, Conn.) has been selected to the D3baseball.com Summer League Honor Roll for his play with Pittsfield Suns (Futures League) and Hyannis Harbor Hawks (Cape Cod Baseball League).
The D3baseball.com Summer League Honor Roll was created this year to recognize student-athletes who produced outstanding seasons in summer ball across the nation in Division III.
Shpur tore up the Futures League behind a .333/.430/.430 slash line, 26 runs, six doubles, one triple, one homer, 18 RBI, 19 walks, and 17 stolen bases in 30 games.
The Futures League All-Star selection parlayed his season into an opportunity to play in the Cape Cod Baseball League, the best summer baseball league in the country.
Shpur went 2-for-4 with one run scored in his Cape Cod Baseball League debut on July 29 against Cotuit. He played in four total games for the Harbor Hawks collecting two runs scored and three hits.
Based upon available data, Shpur is the third student-athlete in program history to play in the Cape Cod Baseball League.
