Baseball Bests Franklin & Marshall, 6-2

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. — The Endicott baseball team defeated Franklin & Marshall, 6-2, in non-conference action on Monday evening at Chain O'Lakes Stadium.

WP (1-0): Alexander Zaiser (Naples, Fla.) — 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 K
LP (0-1): Brooks Rush (Berwyn, Pa.) — 0.1 IP, 3 H, 5 R, 1 ER, 1 BB

Trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the seventh, the Gulls posted a five-run frame and never looked back.

Jake Nardone (Wakefield, Mass.), Kyle Grabowski (Westfield, Mass.), and Nicolas Notarangelo (Taunton, Mass.) all plated runs in the big inning for Endicott.

The Gulls' bullpen also played a major role in the victory as Chris Jenkins (Mansfield, Mass.), Zaiser, Max Tarlin (Sharon, Mass.), and John Connolly (Attleboro, Mass.) only allowed one hit, zero walks, and struck out six batters in 4 1/3 innings.

Jenkins entered the contest with two outs in the fifth and worked out of an eventual bases loaded jam to begin the run of scoreless frames for the arm barn.

From there, Jenkins and the rest of the pen only allowed three runners to reach scoring position.
