CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Endicott baseball team defeated MIT, 10-4, in a non-conference matchup on Wednesday evening at Fran O'Brien Field.
WP (1-0): Chris Jenkins (Mansfield, Mass.) – 4 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 2 K
LP (0-1): Matt Leonard (San Antonio, Texas) – 5 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 4 BB, 5 K
Endicott's six-run sixth inning put the game away for the Gulls.
Dylan Pacheco (Dartmouth, Mass.) got the crooked inning underway with a double down the left field line, while Caleb Shpur (East Canaan, Conn.) made it 5-1 with a two-run single to left.
Nicolas Notarangelo (Taunton, Mass.) punctuated the scoring outburst with a three-run dinger to right field for an 8-1 advantage.
Meanwhile, Robbie Wladkowski (Norwood, Mass.) added some insurance runs in the ninth via a two-run blast to left field for his third homer of the season.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORES
- Endicott is 14-6 all-time against MIT.
- Jenkins earned his first collegiate win.
- Notarangelo launched his sixth home run of the year.
- With today's two longballs, the Gulls upped their current single season program record to 42 homers.
