Mulready’s Late Homer Lifts Endicott Over Keystone, 10-8

AUBURNDALE, Fla. — The Endicott baseball team defeated Keystone, 10-8, in a wild offensive contest on Tuesday evening at Lake Myrtle Park.

Tied 8-8 with one in the top of the ninth, John Mulready (Peabody, Mass.) crushed a solo homer to put the Gulls ahead for good. The homer was the first of his career.

Nicolas Notarangelo (Taunton, Mass.) also drove in an insurance run with an RBI single before Foch Lovejoy (Durham, N.H.) closed out the ninth emphatically with a punchout looking to wrap up the victory.

The Gulls scored five runs in the first two innings (1st: 1, 2nd: 4), but Keystone answered back with four runs in the second, one more in the third (5-5), another in the fourth (6-6), and two more in the seventh to take an 8-6 advantage into the final two innings of play.

Caleb Shpur (East Canaan, Conn.) and Notarangelo were responsible for tying the game in the eighth via an RBI single and a sac fly to center, respectively.
