MIT Rallies Past Baseball, 11-10

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott baseball team lost to MIT, 11-10, in non-conference action on Sunday evening at North Field.

WP (1-1): Graham Cartwright (La Jolla, Calif.) – 4 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 4 K
LP (1-1): Rian Schwede (Whitman, Mass.) – 1 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 0 K

Trailing 8-1 after six full, the Engineers scored two in the seventh, six in the eighth, and two more in the ninth to come away with the victory.

Endicott's offense was powered by the home run in the contest as Nicolas Notarangelo (Taunton, Mass.), Dylan Pacheco (Dartmouth, Mass.), and Kyle Grabowski (Westfield, Mass.) all went yard.

Notarangelo and Pacheco both smashed a three-run homer in the third inning for 3-1 and 6-1 leads, respectively, at the time, while Grabowski belted a two-run homer in the sixth for an 8-1 advantage.

Notarangelo finished the contest going 2-for-6 with one run scored and four RBI.

Grabowski was 2-for-5 with two runs scored and three RBI, while Pacheco went 3-for-4 with one run and three RBI.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • The Gulls saw their four-game winning streak come to an end.
  • Endicott suffered its first loss at North Field this season (6-1).
  • MIT has scored 11 or more runs in its last three contests (2-1 overall).

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (11-4) hosts Suffolk on Tuesday, March 29 at 3:30 PM. MIT (4-9-1) travels to Amherst next Tuesday at 3:30 PM.
