Baseball Turns Away Colby, 8-1

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott baseball team defeated Colby, 8-1, in non-conference action on Sunday evening at North Field.

WP (6-0): Gabe Van Emon (Lexington, Mass.) – 5 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 8 K
LP (2-1): Charlie Jodka (North Andover, Mass.) – 3 1/3 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 3 BB, 1 K

A four-run second inning and Endicott's depth on the bump were the difference for the Gulls on Sunday.

Matthew McKinley (Hudson, N.H.) started the scoring in the second with an RBI single to left field, while Caleb Shpur (East Canaan, Conn.) hit a three-run bomb to left field later in the frame for a 4-0 advantage.

The Gulls also produced three runs in the sixth and one more in the seventh to run away with the victory.
