EAST BOSTON, Mass. — The Endicott baseball team rallied past Suffolk, 5-4, in conference action on Tuesday evening at East Boston Memorial Park.
WP (5-0): Gabe Van Emon (Lexington, Mass.) — 4 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 4 BB, 4 K
LP: 0-1) Casey Sullivan (Worcester, Mass.) — 5 IP, 7 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 2 K
SV: (6) Max Tarlin (Sharon, Mass.) — 1 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K
Trailing 4-2 in the sixth, the Gulls capitalized on a few miscues and a Nickolas Perkins' (Nashua, N.H.) eventual game-winning RBI single to stay undefeated in league play (9-0).
Van Emon did not allow a runner to reach scoring position over the next three innings (6-7-8) before Tarlin closed the door on his conference-best sixth save of the season.
Tarlin did so via three straight ground ball outs after allowing back-to-back singles to start the frame.
Endicott began its comeback effort in the second as Dylan Pacheco (Dartmouth, Mass.) and John Mulready (Peabody, Mass.) both knocked in runs (single/groundout) to cut into the Gulls' early 3-0 deficit, at the time.
