BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott baseball team swept No. 22 nationally ranked Roger Williams, 3-2 & 6-1, in conference action on Saturday evening at Paolino Field.

GAME ONE: Endicott 3, Roger Williams 2

WP (3-0): Nicholas Cannata (Marlborough, Conn.) – 1 1/3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K
LP (0-1): Adam Harz (Manchester, Conn.) – 1 1/3 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 0 K
SV (5): Max Tarlin (Sharon, Mass.) – 2/3 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K

Trailing 2-0 in the top of the ninth inning, the Gulls put their rally caps on to take game one.

Caleb Shpur (East Canaan, Conn.) tied up the contest with a two-run single through the right side before Nicolas Notarangelo (Taunton, Mass.) pushed Endicott ahead for good with an RBI single to right.

After Cannata gave up a one-out double in the bottom half, Tarlin entered from the pen and locked the door on his conference-leading fifth save of the season via a strikeout swinging and a fly out to center.

Rian Schwede (Whitman, Mass.) was handed the hard-luck no-decision despite a fabulous outing that featured seven innings, four hits, two runs (both earned), one walk, and seven strikeouts.

GAME TWO: Endicott 6, Roger Williams 1

WP (3-0): Gabe Van Emon (Lexington, Mass.) – 5 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 4 K
LP (4-1): Chris Flynn (Randolph, N.J.) – 5 1/3 IP, 4 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 7 K

Dylan Pacheco (Dartmouth, Mass.) broke open a 1-1 tie with a solo bomb to right field and Endicott fed off the momentum the rest of the way for the sweep.

In the fifth, Joseph Millar (Lake Hopatcong, N.J.) was a one-man show as the senior right fielder laced an RBI triple down the right field line for a 3-1 lead and later scored on a wild pitch to make it 4-1.

A run-scoring error bumped the Gulls' advantage to 5-1 in the sixth, while Nickolas Perkins (Nashua, N.H.) capped the scoring in the seventh with a sacrifice fly to left field.

On the bump, Cannata did the heavy lifting to start the contest in his second appearance of the day via four innings of one-run ball (five strikeouts).

Van Emon was lights out over the remainder of the matchup as the junior left recorded three 1-2-3 innings to highlight his outing.
