Mulready, Cannata Garner CCC Weekly Awards

CCC RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott baseball student-athletes John Mulready (Peabody, Mass.) and Nicholas Cannata (Marlborough, Conn.) have claimed Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) weekly honors, as announced by the league office earlier today. Mulready was named the CCC Player of the Week, while Cannata earned CCC Pitcher of the Week accolades.

Last week for the Gulls (4/11-17), Mulready hit an impressive .636/.615/1.364 in three conference wins.

Mulready opened the week by going 4-for-5 with two home runs, three runs scored, and four RBI in a win over Gordon on Tuesday (April 12). Mulready's two-home-run game was his third of the season making him the first Endicott student-athlete to not only have three two-homer games in a season, but also the first Gull to accomplish the feat in his career.

He then helped the Gulls to a sweep against Nichols going 3-for-6 in the twin bill, scoring two runs, and driving in two more.

For the week, Mulready had five runs scored, six RBI, and a stolen base.

This is Mulready's first career CCC Player of the Week award.

Meanwhile, Cannata tossed a complete-game shutout on Saturday (April 16) to give Endicott its 6-0 CCC win over Nichols.

Cannata faced just six batters over the minimum, allowing four hits and two walks in the contest.

He held the Bison hitless in nine at-bats with runners on and recorded 1-2-3 innings in the second, fourth, sixth, and seventh frames. The right-hander also fanned six batters.

This is Cannata's first career CCC Pitcher of the Week award.
