CCC CHAMPS! No. 20/21 Endicott Tops WNEU To Claim League Title, 4-1

BEVERLY, Mass. — The No. 20/21 nationally ranked Endicott baseball team defeated Western New England, 4-1, to capture the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship on Saturday afternoon at North Field.

The second-seeded Gulls went a perfect 4-0 in tournament play to win their seventh CCC Championship and eighth conference title overall in program history.

Endicott scored a pair of runs in the second and fourth innings, respectively, and rode the depth of their pitching staff the rest of the way for the victory.

Dylan Pacheco (Dartmouth, Mass.), Kyle Grabowski (Westfield, Mass.), and Matthew McKinley (Hudson, N.H.) all knocked in runs for the Gulls.

Chris Jenkins (Mansfield, Mass.) also bridged the gap to Tarlin with three gritty innings out of the pen (2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 5 K) after appearing in Endicott's 14-9 win over Salve Regina yesterday.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Most wins in program history (36-7).
  • First conference title since 2014.
  • With the win, the baseball team locked up the Endicott Athletics & Recreation Department's ninth conference title this season, the most in an academic year in school history.

WHAT'S NEXT

No. 20/21 Endicott (36-7) has earned the league's automatic qualifier into the 2022 NCAA Division III Baseball Championship Tournament. First round action is scheduled to begin on Friday, May 20.

The NCAA Tournament Selection Show is scheduled to air on www.ncaa.com on Monday, May 16 at 12 PM.

Western New England's season comes to a close at 19-20-1 overall.
