No. 10 Women's Hockey Soars Past Salve Regina, 6-2

Middletown, R.I. — The Endicott women's ice hockey team defeated Salve Regina, 6-2, on Friday night at St. George's School Ice Rink. 

Courtney Sullivan (North Yarmouth, Maine) got the Gulls on the board first scoring two goals in the opening period. She made it 1-0 at 4:47 and 2-0 on the power play at 19:27. 

After being held scoreless in the second period, Endicott exploded for four goals in the third period three of which all came within two minutes of each other. 

Jacy Kuhlman (Severna Park, Md.) gave Endicott a 3-1 cushion at 8:05, Meaghan Francis (Woodbridge, Conn.) put the Gulls up 4-2 at 15:14, Kat Keith (Westwood, Mass.) made it 5-2 at 15:56, and Jillian Gibbs (Burlington, Vt.) rounded out the scoring making it 6-2 at 16:50.  

Meanwhile, Michaela O'Brien (Pembroke, Mass.) made 14 saves to improve to 4-0-0 on the season. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE 

  • Gibbs and Jade Meier (Fairbanks, Alaska) both played their 100th career game for Endicott tonight.
  • Six goals are the most the Gulls have scored this season.
  • Sullivan leads Endicott in goals with 12. 
  • The Gulls are now 8-0-2 all-time versus Salve Regina.   

WHAT'S NEXT 

Endicott (16-2-0, 9-0-0 CHC) will host Salve Regina (4-13-0, 1-8-0 CHC) on Saturday, January 25 at 6:15 PM as the Gulls host Youth Hockey Night. Free entry will be offered for those that wear their youth hockey jerseys. There will also be a "kid of the game", a chance to assist in announcing the starting lineup, as well as meet the team after the game.
