Endicott, Stevenson To Play Game Benefiting Laughlin Family Foundation

BEVERLY, Mass. —  On Sunday, December 8, the women's ice hockey contest between Endicott and Stevenson scheduled for 2 PM in Owings Mills, Maryland will serve as a fundraiser for the Laughlin Family Foundation.

Donations can be made via cash, check, or credit card prior to, during, or after the game to raise awareness, support, and fund research for rare cancers. T-shirts will be available for purchase and a silent auction will be available for bidding throughout the game to further raise funds for the cause.

Lastly, members of the Laughlin Family will be present for a ceremonial puck drop prior to Sunday's contest to jumpstart the fundraising efforts.

Craig and Linda Laughlin, along with their family, founded the Laughlin Family Foundation to bring awareness, support, and research to rare cancers. Craig is a former NHL player and current Capitals TV Analyst on NBC Sports Washington. In April 2018, Craig's wife, Linda, was diagnosed with a rare form of endometrial cancer – uterine serous carcinoma – a disease that only affects approximately 6,000 women per year in the United States. While Linda's diagnosis came as a shock, it also shed light on the realization that there are hundreds of other rare cancers. Affecting over 100,000 people each year, there is very limited patient and clinical knowledge for these cancers.

The Foundation believes that every cancer patient should have access to the support, treatment options, and/or research that they need. The Laughlin Family Foundation believes that every cancer deserves a voice, no matter how many patients are diagnosed each year.

The Laughing Foundation focuses on funding initiatives to advance the care and research round cancers, for which there is limited clinical and patient knowledge and understanding. One of the main goals of the foundation is to benefit gynecologic oncology (GYNONC).
