COVID-19: A Message From Dr. Brian Wylie, Assistant Vice President/Director of Athletics

CCC PRESS RELEASE | COVID-19 UPDATE

Dear Parents of Endicott Student-Athletes,

I realize the last few weeks have brought considerable challenges, questions, and emotions as we continue to navigate the unknown with COVID-19. With each decision we've made, our student-athletes health and well-being have always been our biggest priority. With that said, it is with extreme sadness that the Board of Directors of the Commonwealth Coast Conference has decided to cancel our spring athletics season. I met with each of the spring programs earlier this week and informed them of this possibility, but the finality of this decision certainly doesn't make this any easier. We know how resilient your sons and daughters are as young adults and student-athletes, and that this unfortunate situation will in some way make them stronger moving forward as individuals. Knowing the abundant spirit, pride, and leadership that our student-athletes have for the Endicott community provides me with a great level of comfort.

Following the decision from the NCAA Board of Governors to cancel the winter and spring NCAA Championships, I met with two of our advancing NCAA teams and informed them that their championship seasons had ended. While this was extremely difficult to deliver to them, it was evident that it was much more difficult for them to process. Nothing could assuage the disappointment in taking this and the spring seasons from our great athletic and club sports programs.

We hope you understand how we arrived at this difficult decision and ask for your continued support as we navigate these unprecedented times.

Sincerely,

Brian Wylie
Assistant Vice President
Director of Athletics
