Beverly, MA-- Nicole Reather was on the mound for the Gulls in the second game against Nichols, allowing only two hits and zero runs. Freshman Paula McGinn went 2-for-3 with one RBI in the 4-0 victory.
Morgan Finegan earned a walk to start the third inning, advancing to second on a McGinn sacrifice. Finegan would move to third on an Ashley Labella ground out to second base and cross home plate on a passed ball, giving EC the 1-0 lead.
Kelly Bregman singled in the 5th and scored the second run for the Gulls on an error by the Nichols pitcher, followed by McGinn who had singled at the start of the play, forcing the Bison miscue. Rachel Pearson tallied a RBI by doubling in Labella from third.
Reather earned her 9th win of the season, while the team improved their record to 28-2-1, 19-1 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference. EC hosts Curry College this Saturday, for the last, regular season, conference game. The double header begins at 12:00p.m.
