Milton, MA-In the second game of the ENC double header, the Gulls jumped out to an early lead by scoring five runs in the 1st inning. Ashley Labella, Megan Young and Elyse Colby went back-to-back-to-back with singles to start things off. Labella was able to score on the throw to first on Colby's single. The Gulls \#5 hitter, Megan Huckins also joined in the hit parade with an RBI single of her own, allowing Young to cross the plate.
Freshman Rachel Pearson then followed and smacked a single to left, scoring Colby from third, and Pearson advanced to second in a Crusader attempt to throw out Colby at home plate. Pearson would then score on a Katie Doherty double. Collectively, the Gulls tallied five hits and six runs in the inning, to give Endicott the commanding lead.
The Gulls were back at it in the 5th inning. Labella started the inning off with a single, and would score on a Young double. Colby would hit a double of her own scoring Young. Kelly Bregman followed with a double, which allowed Colby to score from 2nd. Pearson reached 1st on an error by the first baseman and Brittany Modoono singled and advanced to second on a passed ball, while Pearson moved to third and eventually crossed home plate on a catcher error. Chelsey Conant chimed in with her first collegiate hit by singling and would score on another Labella hit. Modoono would score the 12th and final run for the Gulls.
Nicole Reather earned the win, allowing only three hits, one run and struck out seven. She improved her record to 4-2 overall. The Gulls are 13-2, 7-1 overall. They host Gordon College tomorrow for a double header. The first game begins at noon.
