Kissimmee, FL-- The Gulls were handed their first loss of the season today in a 2-1 loss to Calvin College. This was a game that was played over two days. The Gulls played the first three innings on Tuesday but it was called due to rain. The Gulls resumed the scoreless game in the third inning and loaded the bases but were unable to capitalize.
The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the 4th inning when Jalean Makedonsky had an RBI single for Calvin's first run of the game. The Gulls did not sit put, scoring one run in the 6th to tie the game. The inning started out with a Rachel Pearson fielder's choice. Brittany Modoono pinch ran and scored all the way from first on a Katie Doherty double.
With the score 1-1, Calvin capitalized on two Endicott errors. This allowed Calvin to score the game winning run.
Endicott's record now stands at 6-1. The Gulls will play Farleigh-Dickinson and UW-Lacrosse today at 8:50am and 10:40am respectively.
