Kissimmee, FL-- The Gulls gathered another win, this time over Benedictine University (Illinois). The Gulls were led on the mound by a strong performance from Nicole Reather. Reather had a no hitter broken up with 2 outs in the 7th inning, and allowed only 2 hits, 1 walk and struck out 1 in route to the shutout.
The offense picked up in the 4th inning when Rachel Pearson started it off with a single. Morgan Finegan then pinch ran for Pearson and scored on an RBI triple by Laura Schack. Missy Swymer followed that up by reaching on an error by the second baseman and advanced to second on the throw, allowing Schack to score from third. Paula McGinn then singled but got in a rundown long enough to let Swymer score. Ashley Labella then walked and scored on an RBI double by Megan Young.
This proved to be the only 4 runs the Gulls would need as they improved to 5-0 overall.
