Boston, MA-- The Gulls came from behind in the second game of the Wentworth double header, scoring three runs in the top of the 7th inning, to give the Gulls the 3-1 victory.
The seventh inning started off with a clutch double by Elyse Colby to start the late inning rally. With Colby on second,Rachel Pearson smacked a double of her own down the left field line, brining in Colby, tying the game at one a piece. Missy Swymer then entered the game to pinch run for Pearson. The next batter saw Katie Doherty single to left field, advancing Swymer to third. Morgan Finegan grounded into a fielder's choice enabling Doherty to advance to second. Swymer and Doherty would both score on a Leopard shortstop throwing error, giving the Gulls their second and third runs of the game.
Pearson was 1-for-3 with one run batted in, while Paula McGinn was 2-for-4. Nicole Reather (7-3) earned the win for the Gulls. Robyn Savitske came in for the save (5) in the 7th inning. With the win, the Gulls improve their overall record to 23-2-1, 16-1 in the Conference. The Gulls host Anna Maria College in a make-up game, tomorrow at 4:00p.m.
