Robyn Savitske was outstanding on the mound, taking a perfect game into the 7th inning. She gave up a leadoff walk and a double before retiring 2 of the last 4 batters of the game to seal the victory. Savitske gave up only one run, one hit, one walk, and fanned eleven. Savitske faced just 2 batters over the minimum to improve her record to 6-0 on the season.
In game two of the NEC double-header, the Gulls continued to hit well, winning 4-1. Freshman Paula McGinn was 2-4 with two runs scored, helping the Gulls to victory. McGinn led the game off with a single and two batters later, junior Megan Huckins walked and Rachel Pearson continued her hit streak, singling in McGinn, that gave the Gulls the early lead.
In the 3rd inning, McGinn singled again, and with heads up base running, she advanced to second. Next batter, sophomore Ashley Labella reached first on a error by the pitcher, advancing McGinn to third. McGinn would then score on a passed ball, tacking on the Gulls' second run of the game. Labella would score on an error by the first baseman.
In the 5th, Colby began the inning with a walk and advanced to third on a double by Huckins. Again it was Pearson who tallied another RBI, scoring Colby from 3rd.
Freshman Kelly Bregman was the starting pitcher for the Gulls. Nicole Reather came in for relief in the 4th, allowing no hits, no runs and fanned two. Reather shutdown all twelve batters she faced
