BEVERLY, Mass. — After 25 years at the helm of the Endicott College women's volleyball program, Tim Byram has decided to step down as head coach, effective immediately, due to family obligations in North Carolina. His last day at Endicott will be Friday, March 28.
Byram compiled an impressive overall record of 482-324 (.598) and a conference mark of 178-31 (.852) during his time on the women's volleyball sidelines (2000-25).
His teams won 10 conference championships, captured one ECAC title, and made 10 NCAA Tournament appearances.
Individually, the Gulls collected 106 All-Conference honors, eight conference Player of the Year, seven Rookie of the Year, six Libero of the Year and four Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards, 56 All-Region selections, one All-Region Player of the Year award, one All-Region Rookie of the Year award, and 14 All-America selections.
Byram's legacy reaches far beyond the women's volleyball program, as the longest-tenured employee in Endicott Athletics history, he served the department in multiple roles during his career including compliance coordinator, transportation liaison, and men's volleyball head coach (2001-12).
The eight-time conference Coach of the Year (6 WVB, 2 MVB) also contributed to the development of coaches and staff within the department throughout his tenure.
Byram departs campus as the all-time winningest coach in Endicott Athletics history when combining his coaching records (men's volleyball: 214-164, .566 | all-time: 696-488, .588) and the third-winningest single-sport head coach.
In the classroom, Byram's student-athletes earned 130-plus Academic All-Conference honors, while 10 of his teams received AVCA Team Academic Award laurels.
Byram's impactful athletics career began as a student-athlete at UMaine-Farmington, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business (1990-94).
Before making immeasurable contributions at Endicott, Byram held coaching roles at UMaine-Farmington (head coach), St. Joseph's of Maine (assistant), and Bates (interim head coach).
A search for a new women's volleyball head coach will begin immediately.
