NCAA TOURNAMENT: Endicott Falls To Smith In First Round, 3-0
BALTIMORE, Md. — The Endicott women's volleyball team saw its season come to a close on Thursday afternoon, falling to Smith by a 3-0 final. The Endicott Gulls fell by set scores of 25-18, 25-17 and 25-21 to end the season with a record of 22-8.

BALTIMORE, Md. — The Endicott women's volleyball team saw its season come to a close on Thursday afternoon, falling to Smith by a 3-0 final. The Endicott Gulls fell by set scores of 25-18, 25-17 and 25-21 to end the season with a record of 22-8.
Leading the way for Endicott was Hadley Helenbrook (Atlanta, Ga.) who registered a match-high 14 kills to go with five digs, a service ace, and a block assist.
Ava Grace Dresback (Pawcatuck, Conn.) recorded five putaways and tied for the team-high with seven digs. The freshman added an assist, service ace, and block assist. Fellow freshman Angelina Fitzharris (Webster, N.Y.) finished with four dispatches.
Sophie Breitenbach (Newport, R.I.), Hannah Maguire (San Jose, Calif.), Stephanie Moreau (Methuen, Mass.), and Megan Murphy (Danvers, Mass.) all added one kill.
Maguire ran the show for the Gulls with 23 assists and had six digs. The freshman and Francesca Batek (Rochester, N.Y.) tied for a team-high two block assists.
On the backline, Emma Ruel (Duxbury, Mass.) had seven digs, while Amelia Beigel (Amherst, Mass.) recorded four digs and a team-high two service aces.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Endicott still leads the all-time series 3-2. This was the first ever meeting in the NCAA Tournament.
- With their 22-8 record to end the season, this senior class of Amelia Beigel (Amherst, Mass.), Savannah Cambell (Soquel, Calif), Megan Murphy (Danvers, Mass.), and Emma Ruel (Duxbury, Mass.) finish their four years having won three conference championships, and produced a cumulative record of 80-40 (.667) for their careers, which included a 33-2 record in conference regular season play.
- Helenbrook finishes with 503 kills this season, the first student-athlete to record 500 or more kills in a season.
WHAT'S NEXT
Endicott (22-8) bows out of the NCAA Division III Tournament, while Smith (31-6) advances to take on the winner of AVCA No. 20 Ithaca and Lasell on Friday at 4:30 PM.
