BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott women's volleyball sophomore outside hitter Hadley Helenbrook (Atlanta, Ga.) and freshman setter Hannah Maguire (San Jose, Calif.) have received Conference of New England (CNE) weekly award, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. Helenbrook earned Player of the Week honors, while Maguire earned Rookie of the Week.
HADLEY HELENBROOK | PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Helenbrook averaged 5.13 kills per set (41 kills, .223 hitting percentage) and 2.25 digs per set (18) in a 2-0 week (1-0 CNE) for the Gulls. The sophomore also went 53-56 (.946) in the serve receive and added six service aces, two assists, and two block assists in the impressive two-match stretch.
In a sweep of conference opponent Nichols on Wednesday, October 9, Helenbrook recorded 16 kills (.242) along with two digs and an assist for the Blue and Green.
Then, in a hard-fought five-set victory over Emerson on Friday, the Atlanta, Ga. native recorded 25 putaways while also setting a new career-high with six service aces. She paired her team-high 16 digs along with two block assists and an assist on the day.
This is Helenbrook's fifth-career CNE Player of the Week award, all of which have come this season (9/3/24, 9/9/24, 9/16/24, 10/7/24).
HANNAH MAGUIRE | ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
In Endicott's 2-0 week (1-0 CNE) week, Maguire recorded 75 assists (9.38 assists per set), 15 digs (1.88 per set), five kills, three service aces, and three block assists.
Versus Nichols, she paced the offensive efforts with 33 assists. The freshman also recorded three kills, two digs, and one service ace on the evening.
She followed that up with 42 assists (8th match with 40 or more assists this season) in a 3-2 victory against Emerson on Friday. She also recorded her ninth double-double of the season, as she picked up 13 digs. She rounded out the stat sheet with her three block assists, two kills, and two service aces against the Lions.
This marks Maguire's fourth-career CNE Rookie of the Week so far this season (9/3/24, 9/30/24, 10/7/24).
