BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott women's volleyball student-athletes Hadley Helenbrook (Atlanta, Ga.) and Hannah Maguire (San Jose, Calif.) have been named Conference of New England (CNE) Player and Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office earlier today.
HALDEY HELENBROOK
In an undefeated week for Endicott, Helenbrook recorded 64 kills (4.92 kills per set), a .324 hitting percentage, had 38 digs (2.92 digs/set), and went 84-93 on serve-receive (.903). The sophomore recorded a double-double (kills-digs) in all three matches.
Set a new career high on Friday night versus WPI with 26 kills (previous career high was 18), a .438 hitting percentage, 12 digs, and went 35-of-36 in serve-receive (.972).
Followed that up on Saturday with 14 kills and 14 digs against Ursinus and then 24 kills, 12 digs, and three service aces in a 3-2 victory against Regis (Mass.).
This is Helenbrook's first CNE Player of the Week award in her career.
HANNAH MAGUIRE
Maguire recorded 128 assists (9.85 assists per set), led the team with 41 digs (3.15 digs/set), had seven service aces, six kills, and at the net recorded four block assists as the Gulls went 3-0.
On Friday versus WPI, recorded 54 assists which is tied for fifth all-time in program history for assists in a single match. Also tied for the team-high in digs with 12 as the Gulls overcame a 32-30 setback in the first set to win the next three.
In a doubleheader on Saturday, the freshman was a catalyst for the offense. She added 74 assists (8.22 per set) as the Gulls defeated Ursinus 3-1 and Regist (Mass.) 3-2. Maguire had a team-high 15 digs versus Ursinus and then followed that up with 14 digs against Regis.
This is Maguire's first career CNE Rookie of the Week honor.
