CNE CHAMPIONSHIP: No. 1 Endicott To Host No. 2 Wentworth For Title Opportunity At 1 PM

BEVERLY, Mass. — The first-seeded Endicott women's volleyball team (21-7) welcomes No. 2 seed Wentworth (18-10) on Saturday, November 16 for the Conference of New England (CNE) Championship. The match is slated for a 1 PM start at MacDonald Gymnasium.

The Gulls advance to the championship match after their 3-1 victory over Western New England on Thursday evening at MacDonald Gymnasium. They took the match with scores of 25-20, 25-20, 19-25, and 25-22.

The Leopards punched their ticket to the championship as they took down Roger Williams, 3-0, with scores of 25-21, 25-16, and 25-21.

FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • This is a rematch of last season's championship match in which Wentworth defeated Endicott in five sets.
  • The Gulls defeated Wentworth 3-1 earlier this season, posting scores of 23-25, 25-15, 25-7, and 25-18. In the match, Hadley Helenbrook (Atlanta, Ga.) set a new program record for single-match kills with 36.
  • Endicott leads the CNE in kills per set with 12.56 and assists per set (11.56).
  • Wentworth ranks first in the conference in hitting percentage at .215
  • This is the fifth consecutive year the Gulls will be in the conference championship, having won three (2019, 2021, and 2022).

WHAT'S NEXT

The winner of Saturday's contest will be crowned the 2024 CNE Women's Volleyball Champion and earn the league's automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Tournament.
