BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott women's volleyball student-athletes Hadley Helenbrook (Atlanta, Ga.) and Ava Grace Dresback (Pawcatuk, Conn.) have been named Conference of New England (CNE) Player and Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office earlier today.
HALDEY HELENBROOK
During a 2-1 week for Endicott in which the Gulls faced three AVCA ranked or receiving votes teams as they defeated No. 11 nationally ranked Trinity (Tex.) and receiving votes Covenant, Helenbrook recorded 56 kills (5.09 kills per set), a .256 hitting percentage, had 34 digs (3.09 digs/set), and went 86-93 on serve-receive (.925). Added six service aces and four total blocks (one solo, three block assists).
For her performance in the Trinity Fall Classic, Helenbrook was named to the All-Tournament team.
On Friday afternoon versus receiving votes Eastern recorded a double-double with 12 kills and 12 digs along with three assists, two service aces, two total blocks (one solo and one assist), and 29-32 in serve receive (.906)
Followed that up later on Friday in a 3-2 victory versus No. 11 Trinity (Tex.), the sophomore set a new career high with 27 kills (.321) to go with 12 digs and two service aces. Went 36-39 (.923) in serve receive.
Then in a 3-0 sweep against another receiving-votes Covenant, Helenbrook recorded 17 kills (.297), 10 digs, two service aces, two block assists, and 21-22 (.955) in serve receive
This is Helenbrook's third CNE Player of the Week award in her career (9/3/24, 9/9/24).
AVA GRACE DRESBACK
During a 2-1 week for Endicott in which the Gulls faced three AVCA ranked or receiving votes teams, Dresback recorded 34 kills (3.40 kills per set), a .184 hitting percentage, had 25 digs (2.50 digs/set), and went 57-63 on serve-receive (.905). Added four service aces and one total block.
For her performance in the Trinity Fall Classic, Dresback was named to the All-Tournament team.
On Friday in a 3-2 victory versus No. 11 Trinity (Tex.), the freshman set a new career high with 20 kills (.229) to go with 11 digs and two service aces. Went 29-31 (.935) in serve receive.
Then in a 3-0 sweep against Covenant, the Pawcatuk, Conn. native recorded 13 kills (.226), seven digs, one service ace, one block assist, and 15-17 (.882) in serve receive.
This is Dresback's first career CNE Rookie of the Week honor.
