Women’s Volleyball Hands Plymouth State Second Loss Of Season, 3-0

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott women's volleyball team defeated Plymouth State, 3-0, by scores of 25-15, 25-23, and 25-17 in non-conference action on Wednesday night at MacDonald Gymnasium.

Hadley Helenbrook (Atlanta, Ga.) posted a match-high 18 kills (.282) alongside seven digs to lead the Gulls.

Ava Grace Dresback (Pawcatuck, Conn.) added eight putaways, while Angelina Fitzharris (Webster, N.Y.) notched six kills on 12 swings (.333).

Stephanie Moreau (Methuen, Mass.) and Annie Draper (North Kingston, R.I.) also chipped in with five kills apiece on stellar hitting percentages (.625, .364) in the victory.

Hannah Maguire (San Jose, Calif.) facilitated the offense via a match-high 40 assists (81 attempts, .494) and 10 digs.

Emma Ruel (Duxbury, Mass.) guided the defensive efforts with a match-high 16 digs.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Tonight's match only featured six ties (0-4-2) and one lead change (0-1-0).
  • The Gulls are 14-12 all-time against Plymouth State.
  • Both teams entered tonight's contest on a seven-match winning streak.
  • Endicott held the Panthers to their second-lowest hitting percentage (.127) in a three-set match this year (season-low: .069 vs. Brandeis, 3-0 loss).
  • Maguire compiled her 10th double-double and ninth match of 40 assists or more this season.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (14-5) hosts Hartford on Saturday, October 19 at 3 PM. This weekend's match will serve as Senior Day for the Gulls. 

Plymouth State (18-2) visits Vermont State University Castleton this Saturday at 11 AM.
