Women's Volleyball Sweeps Suffolk, 3-0

EAST BOSTON, Mass. — The Endicott women's volleyball team swept Suffolk (25-22, 25-22, 28-26) in early Saturday afternoon Conference of New England (CNE) action from inside Smith Court.

With Endicott already up two sets to none, Suffolk looked destined to bring the match to a fourth set, up 24-19 in the third.

However, the Blue and Green rattled off six consecutive points highlighted by a Megan Murphy (Danvers, Mass.) kill to pull ahead 25-24, and wound up taking the third set by a score of 28-26 to seal the sweep.

Hadley Helenbrook (Atlanta, Ga.) and Stephanie Moreau (Methuen, Mass.) led the Gulls offense with 12 and 10 putaways, respectively.

Freshman setter Hannah Maguire (San Jose, Calif.) dished out a stellar 36 assists and also picked up 10 digs for the Gulls.

Emma Ruel (Duxbury, Mass.) also filled out the stat sheet, as she recorded six assists and 11 digs in the sweep.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • The Gulls are undefeated in the all-time series against the Rams with a record of 8-0.
  • The Rams have won just four sets in the eight matches between the two programs.
  • Endicott will play as the top seed in the CNE Tournament, while Suffolk will be the fourth seed.
  • Seventh time in program history the Gulls have finished the regular season with a perfect in-conference record (9-0 this season).

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (20-7, 9-0 CNE) has earned a bye to the CNE Semifinals, which will be played from MacDonald Gymnasium on Thursday, November 14. Suffolk (23-6, 5-4 CNE) awaits seeding for first round play.
