BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott women's volleyball student-athletes Hadley Helenbrook (Atlanta, Ga.) and Ava Grace Dresback (Pawcatuk, Conn.) have been named Conference of New England (CNE) Player and Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office earlier today.
HALDEY HELENBROOK
Helenbrook averaged 5.00 kills per set (25 kills, .259 hitting percentage) and 1.80 digs per set (9) in a 2-0 (1-0 CNE) week for the Gulls. The sophomore also went 25-26 (.962) in the serve receive and added seven service aces, two assists, and one block assist.
In a sweep of Plymouth St., Helenbrook recorded 18 kills (.282) along with eight digs, two service aces, and a service ace. Was also perfect in serve receive, going 13-13.
Then in another sweep of Hartford, the Atlanta, Ga. native recorded seven putaways, while only playing two sets. At the service line had five aces, to go with an assist and dig. Went 12-13 in serve recieve (.923)
This is Helenbrook's sixth CNE Player of the Week award in her career (9/3, 9/9, 9/16, 10/7, 10/14).
AVA GRACE DRESBACK
During a 2-0 week for Endicott, Dresback recorded 22 kills (3.67 kills per set), a .250 hitting percentage, had 17 digs (2.83 digs/set), and went 37-42 on serve-receive (.881). Added four service aces and four total blocks (one solo, three block assists).
In a sweep versus Plymouth St., the freshman recorded eight kills (.138), seven digs, three total blocks (one solo/two assist), and one service ace. Also, went 26-28 in serve receive (.929).
Then in a 3-0 sweep against Hartford, the Pawcatuk, Conn. native recorded 14 kills (.370), 10 digs, three service aces, one block assist, and 11-14 (.786) in serve receive. Dresback recorded her 4th double-double of the season.
This is Dresback's second career CNE Rookie of the Week honor (9/16).
