BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's volleyball team defeated Wentworth, 3-1, by scores of 23-25, 25-15, 25-7, and 25-18 in Conference of New England (CNE) action on Tuesday night at MacDonald Gymnasium.
Hadley Helenbrook (Atlanta, Ga.) set a new program record for single-match kills with 36, eclipsing the previous single-match high of 29, while hitting .541 in the match.
The sophomore's record-breaking putaway came in the fourth set to make it 5-0. Helenbrook ripped off three straight kills to break the record (3-0, 4-0, 5-0), all coming off Abby Downs (Billerica, Mass.) serves.
The Atlanta, Ga. native didn't record an attack error until the fourth set en route to her record-breaking night. In the third set, Helenbrook produced an 11-kill set with zero errors on 17 attacks.
Helenbrook holds the record for all of the Division III so far this season for single-match kills and ranks third across Division I, II, and III.
Hannah Maguire (San Jose, Calif.) ran the offense with 46 assists along with 10 digs, four kills, and three service aces.
Defensively, Emma Ruel (Duxbury, Mass.) led the way with 18 digs, while Amelia Beigel (Amherst, Mass.) followed right behind Ruel with 11 digs.
In the third set, Emma Gulaskey (Miami Shores, Fla.) led the charge for the Gulls at the service line, helping the Gulls race out to a 4-1 lead with two service aces and two Helenbrook kills. The sophomore then finished the set at the line again, this time as the Gulls recorded five consecutive points (20-6 to 24-6).

- Endicott improves to 26-2 all-time versus Wentworth.
- Fourth consecutive match with 35 or more assists for Maguire.
- The 65 digs by Endicott were a season-high.
- Fifth time this season the Gulls recorded 10 or more service aces.

Endicott (9-5, 3-0 CNE) travels to Salve Regina for a tri-match with Clark on Saturday, October 5 at 1/3 PM. Wentworth (10-6, 1-1 CNE) hosts William Paterson and Lasell on Saturday, October 5 at 10 AM/2 PM.
