Women's Basketball Breezes Past Curry, 81-63

MILTON, Mass. — The Endicott women's basketball team breezed to an 81-63 road victory in Wednesday evening's Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) matchup at Katz Gymnasium.

Cora Nadeau (Newport, Vt.) erupted for a game-high 28 points and six three point makes in the victory.

Sarah Dempsey (Windham, N.H.) posted 20 points (10-14 FG) and five rebounds in 30 minutes of play.

Emma Shinney (Wakefield, Mass.) recorded a double-double with 11 points (4-9 FG), 11 assists, and also snagged seven rebounds.

The Gulls outscored the Colonels 20-5 in the first quarter in large part thanks to the freshmen backcourt of Nadeau and Shinney, who combined for 13 first quarter points.

Nadeau nailed a three with 4:54 remaining in the second quarter to hand the Blue and Green its largest lead of the game at 20 (30-10). After Dempsey layed in a halftime buzzer beater, the Gulls headed to the locker rooms with a 37-23 advantage.

Curry opened the second half on a 9-3 run to bring itself back within 10, but Endicott responded with an 8-2 spurt to regain a 14 point edge.

Some steady fourth quarter scoring from Tenley Wallin (Danbury, Conn.) secured the win for the Gulls, 81-63.
