BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott women's basketball freshman guard Emma Shinney (Wakefield, Mass.) has earned Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Co-Rookie of the Week accolades, as announced by the league office earlier today.
Shinney averaged 16 points (14-27 FG, 51.8%), nine assists, nine rebounds, and one steal per game over the Gulls' two outings against Suffolk and Salem State.
In an overtime loss at Suffolk on Tuesday, Shinney scored 10 points (5-13), secured eight rebounds (four defensive, four offensive), dished out a game-high nine assists, swiped a team-high two steals, and played all 45 minutes for the Gulls in the OT thriller.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, in a 95-82 home win against Salem State, the freshman followed up her impressive overtime performance with another all-around display. Her 22 points (9-14 FG), 10 rebounds, and nine assists were all career-highs, playing another lengthy 31 minutes in the Blue and Green's first home win of the season.
This is Shinney's first career CCC Rookie of the Week award.

Endicott (2-5, 1-2 CCC) competes in the Florida Sunshine Shootout on December 27-29. The Gulls face Kalamazoo in the opening game of the invitational on Wednesday, December 27 at Daytona Beach, Florida.
