Women’s Basketball Handles Emerson, 76-69

BOSTON, Mass. – The Endicott women's basketball team defeated Emerson, 76-69, on Tuesday night at Brown and Plofker Gym.

All five of the Gulls' starters scored in double-figures, with Sarah Dempsey (Windham, N.H.) highlighting the group with 18 points and 12 rebounds (both team-highs).

Taylor Bogdanski (Saugus, Mass.) contributed 14 points, while Libby Fleming (Bangor, Maine), Alyssa Garabedian (Cheshire, Conn.), and Emma Shinney (Wakefield, Mass.) had 12, 11, and 10, respectively.

As a team, Endicott shot a season-high 40.9-percent from the field and 82.6-percent (19-for-23) at the free throw line.

The Gulls led for 26:43 in the contest and never trailed following the 5:56 mark in the second quarter (23-22 advantage).

From there, Endicott jumped ahead by as many as 13 points with 3:17 remaining in the third and never looked back the rest of the way.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Tonight's game only featured two ties and four lead changes.
  • Endicott is 18-3 all-time against Emerson (winners of five straight).
  • Dempsey registered her first double-double of the season.
  • Garabedian set a new career-high for points (previous was 10, Nichols, 2/1/23).

Endicott (1-3) visits the University of New England on Wednesday, November 29 at 5:30 PM. Emerson (3-3) travels to Framingham State University on Saturday, December 2 at 12 PM.
