Women’s Basketball Takes Down Hartford, 64-56

HARTFORD, Conn. — The Endicott women's basketball team took down Hartford, 64-56, on Saturday afternoon at Chase Arena.

Emma Shinney (Wakefield, Mass.) led the quartet of Gulls in double figures with 21 points (7-14 FG, 6-10 FT), five boards, and four dimes.

Sarah Dempsey (Windham, N.H.) netted 15 points (5-7 FG), snagged nine rebounds, swiped four steals, and swatted three shots.

The duo of Taylor Bogdanski (Saugus, Mass.) and Alyssa Garabedian (Cheshire, Mass.) each added 10 points in the triumph.

In the opening quarter, both squads traded early baskets and defensive stops as Hartford led by a slim one-point advantage (17-16).

Then, in the second quarter, the Hawks outscored the Gulls 15-6 to take a 32-23 lead to the break.

The Blue and Green responded with an 11-3 stretch to cut the deficit down to just three (47-44) at the end of the third quarter. The burst was ignited by Bogdanski (4), Shinney (4), and Dempsey (3).

From there, the Gulls seized fourth-quarter momentum with a 12-0 run to gain a 59-50 advantage with 2:40 to play. The visitors' spurt was driven by a Bodganski mid-range jumper, a Shinney trifecta, a lay-in and a pair of free throws from Garabedian, and a Dempsey bucket.

The Gulls held off Hartford for their third road victory in 2023-24.
