BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott women's basketball junior forward Sarah Dempsey (Windham, N.H.) has been named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week, as announced by the organization yesterday.
The D3hoops.com Team of the Week honors the top student-athletes nationally at each position (five total) for their performances from the previous week.
This is the 27th season that D3hoops.com has selected its Team of the Week.
Dempsey averaged 30 points per game and shot 75% from the field (24-for-32) to lead the Gulls to a 2-0 week in conference play.
She opened play with a program-record 39-point performance in a 101-74 victory against Nichols on Wednesday, shooting 84% (16-19) from the floor with 15 rebounds and five assists.
Dempsey added 21 more points on Saturday in a wire-to-wire 89-61 win over Hartford.
The junior forward and nursing major is the second student-athlete in program history to receive the honor.
Endicott Hall of Famer Ashley Wright '11 (Merrimack, N.H.) was the first Gull in program history to accomplish the feat on January 18, 2011.
Additionally, Dempsey is the only Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) student-athlete to claim recognition from D3hoops.com this season (21st overall in league history).

Endicott (12-8, 7-5 CCC) hosts Western New England on Saturday, February 10 at 1 PM.
