Dempsey's Record-Setting Performance Leads Women's Basketball Over Bison, 101-74

DUDLEY, Mass. — The Endicott women's basketball team defeated Nichols, 101-74, behind some historic individual performances in Wednesday evening's Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) contest at the Nichols Athletic Center.

The Blue and Green were led by Sarah Dempsey (Windham, N.H.) and her program record 39 points (16-19 FG, 7-7 FT). She also secured 15 rebounds (11 defensive, four offensive) and dished out four assists in the blowout win.

The duo of Libby Fleming (Bangor, Maine) and Emma Shinney (Wakefield, Mass.) each finished an assist shy of the program's first-ever triple-double. Fleming boasted a stat line of 19 points (8-14 FG), 12 rebounds, and nine assists, while Shinney posted 13 points (6-8 FG), 11 rebounds, and nine assists.

Taylor Bogdanski (Saugus, Mass.) also stuffed the stat sheet in the victory, as she contributed 13 points (6-9 FG), seven rebounds, and five assists to the impressive list of individual performances.

After a back-and-forth first quarter, the Gulls exploded for a massive second frame, outscoring Nichols 27-7.

The dominant stretch began with an 8-0 spark thanks to back-to-back Bogdanski layups, an Alyssa Garabedian (Cheshire, Mass.) drive to the rim, and a Dempsey two-point conversion.

Endicott headed to half with a 49-27 advantage after another Dempsey bucket concluded the one-sided stanza.

The second half saw much more of the same, as the Blue and Green outscored the Bison 52-47 in the final 20 to close out the lopsided victory, 101-74.
