Softball Splits With Suffolk On Senior Day

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott softball split a pair of conference games against Suffolk, 5-6 and 8-0 (5 inn.), on Sunday evening.

Prior to the game, seniors Lauren Bower (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.), Carly Marchitto (Orange, Conn.), Lauren Misiaszek (Londonderry, N.H.), Molly O'Neill (Shrewsbury, Mass.), and Kit Rosmus (Portland, Maine) and graduate student Keelin Spencer (San Jose, Calif.) were all honored for their contributions to the Endicott College community and the softball program as part of a Senior Day ceremony.

GAME ONE: Suffolk 6, Endicott 5

WP (9-2): Jenny Jacob (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) – 7 IP, 8 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 7 BB, 8 K
LP (0-3): O'Neill – 2/3 IP, 4 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 1 K

The Gulls had the game-tying run in the fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh innings, respectively, but Jacob worked out of every jam to clinch the game one victory.

Katie Watts (Swampscott, Mass.) cut the game to one (6-5) with a three-run blast to left field in the fourth.

Endicott also saw Misiaszek and Taylor Chelak (Westborough, Mass.) drive in runs (single/4-3 groundout) in the first to account for the remainder of the Gulls' scoring.

GAME TWO: Endicott 8, Suffolk 0 (5 inn.)

WP (12-3): Maria Hanchuk (South Windsor, Conn.) – 5 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K
LP (3-3): Ava Brandow (Cranston, R.I.) – 1 2/3 IP, 7 H, 8 R, 8 ER, 1 BB, 1 K

Endicott scored five runs in the first inning and was never threatened the rest of the way.

Misiaszek, Chelak, Riley Gamache (Litchfield, N.H.), and Marchitto all plated runs in the frame, while the Gulls' other run in the inning came on a perfectly executed double steal by Gamache and Misiaszek.

In the circle, Hanchuk spun four 1-2-3 innings (1, 2, 4, 5) and did not allow a single baserunner to reach scoring position.
