MEDFORD, Mass. – The Endicott softball team split a pair of games against No. 11 nationally ranked Tufts, 4-2 and 1-4, on Wednesday evening at Spicer Field.
GAME ONE: Endicott 4, No. 11 Tufts 2
WP (9-2): Maria Hanchuk (South Windsor, Conn.) – 7 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 5 K
LP (10-2): Sky Johnson (Pismo Beach, Calif.) – 7 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 8 K
Trailing 2-0 in the fifth inning, Raven Comtois (Milford, N.H.) blasted a grand slam to left field to give the Gulls the lead for good.
Hanchuk took over from there with back-to-back 1-2-3 innings before squandering the Jumbos' comeback bid in the seventh by working out of a one-out, runners at first and second jam via a foul out and fly out to center.

WP (7-3): Sophia DiCocco (Bozrah, Conn.) – 7 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 4 K

Tufts bounced back from an early 1-0 deficit with a four-run third inning and never looked back.
Chloe Shapleigh (Lynnfield, Mass.) knocked in the lone run for the Gulls in the first via an RBI single.
