BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott softball student-athlete Maria Hanchuk (South Windsor, Conn.) has earned Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Pitcher of the Week honors, as announced by the league office earlier today.
Last week for the Gulls (4/4-10), Hanchuk picked up two more wins in the circle for Endicott, including a no-hitter against Curry on Sunday (April 10).
In that game, Hanchuk pitched six scoreless innings, while allowing just three walks and striking out 12.
She also had a strong outing the day before picking up a 5-2 win against the University of New England.
Hanchuk went the distance against the Nor'easters and struck out 14.
For the week, Hanchuk spent 13 innings in the circle, allowed six hits and two runs, while striking out 26.
This is Hanchuk's fifth career CCC Pitcher of the Week award (third this season).
