BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott junior Maria Hanchuk (South Windsor, Conn.) has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Softball Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the league office earlier today.
Last week for the Gulls (3/25-4/3), Hanchuk went 2-0 without allowing a run over 10 innings of work. She only gave up four hits and struck out 15 on the week.
Hanchuk's first victory came in a five-inning performance against Gordon, in which she struck out nine and allowed two hits. Hanchuk allowed just two more hits the next day in a shutout of Roger Williams, striking out nine in the win.
This is Hanchuk's fourth career CCC Pitcher of the Week award (second this season).
