Softball Closes Out Spring Break Trip With Sweep Of Framingham State & Bowdoin

LEESBURG, Fla. — The Endicott softball team defeated Framingham State (5-1) and Bowdoin (2-0) on Friday evening to conclude its spring break trip.

GAME ONE: Endicott 5, Framingham State 1

WP (2-1): Jaylin Couto (Taunton, Mass.) — 6 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 7 K
LP (2-2): Ally Moran (Wilmington, Mass.) — 5 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 1 K

Raven Comtois (Milford, N.H.) broke open a scoreless contest in the third via an RBI single up the middle, and the Gulls capitalized on the newfound momentum the rest of the way.

From there, Lauren Misiaszek (Londonderry, N.H.) belted her first homer of the season (fifth career) in the fourth, while Endicott added another run in the sixth to take a 3-0 lead.

Katie Watts (Swampscott, Mass.) and Misiaszek went on to cap the scoring for the Gulls in the seventh with an RBI double and single, respectively.

As for Couto, the sophomore hurler recorded three 1-2-3 innings in the matchup and struck out seven for the second straight game.

GAME TWO: Endicott 2, Bowdoin 0

WP (3-2): Maria Hanchuk (South Windsor, Conn.) — 7 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 9 K
LP (0-2): Anna Halliday (Canton, Mich.) — 6 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 3 K

Offensively, Watts doubled home Carly Marchitto (Orange, Conn.) in the third and Comtois knocked in Watts with a double of her own in the sixth, which was more than enough for Hanchuck in the circle.

The junior lefty was dominant from start to finish as Hanchuck fell one strikeout shy of tying her season-high while compiling four 1-2-3 frames in the victory.
