Game 2
Game Two of today's doubleheader saw the Gulls lose a close game 2-1 to Anna Maria. Nicole Reather would pitch 6 innings, giving up 6 hits and 2 earned runs while striking out 5. The loss dropped her record to 9-4.
Anna Maria was able to pull off scoring two runs in the third inning when Rene Paquette scored on a Suzie Yanovitch single. Jennilee Danielson came up throwing and it was a close play at the plate, but the runner just slid under the tag. Anna Maria would muster one more run on the same play.
With the score 2-0, the Gulls would battle back with two outs in the 4th inning. Megan Huckins walked and was singled to third on a single by Adrienne Guzman. On the same play, the Anna Maria catcher turned around to pick up her mask and Huckins dashed for home scoring the lone Gulls run.
The Gulls would muster three more rallies in each of the 5th, 6th, and 7th innings but to no avail. Offensively, Elyse Colby was 1-2 with a walk and a double.
The Gulls fell to 19-8-1 overall and are 14-2 atop the Commonwealth Coast Conference. Endicott will play next on Tuesday April 20th versus Eastern Nazarene College at home.
