Game 2
The second game vs. the Huskies was a thriller. The Huskies wasted no time scoring, adding two in the top of the 1st inning. They would score 2 runs on 4 hits. Nicole Reather was on the mound and would settle down after that pitching all seven innings. She allowed 10 hits and 4 earned runs and only 1 walk.
The Gulls would counter the Huskies in the bottom of the 1st, scoring two runs of their own. Ashley Labella started it off with a single and advanced to second on a Jennilee Danielson sacrifice bunt. Megan Young would walk and Elyse Colby would double home both runners to tie the game.
The 4th inning, saw the Huskies add two more, but that would only set up a great finish. With the score 4-2 in the bottom of the 7th and two outs, the Gulls would man a rally. Young started it off with a single. Colby would follow with a hard hit ball to right field that the rightfielder would bobble and allow Young to stand on third and Colby on second. Laura Mangini followed this with a 2 RBI single to tie the game. Adrienne Guzman would step to the plate next and smash a ball off the fence, but Mangini was thrown out at the plate.
Due to darkness, the game was suspended in a tie. The Gulls move their record to 16-7-1 overall.
