Game 2
The second game of today's doubleheader saw the Gulls improve their overall record to 13-6 (9-1 CCC). Nicole Reather was on point on the mound. She had great command of her pitches and improved her record to 6-3. She gave up only 4 hits and allowed 1 earned run through 7 innings.
The first inning saw leadoff hitter, Laura Schack walk and move to second on a Jennilee Danielson single. Megan Young then walked to load the bases. Laura Mangini would then walk home a run.
The 4th inning was where the Gulls did most of their damage. They wound up scoring 5 runs on 5 hits and only left 1 on base. Elyse Colby started it off with a single, followed by another Mangini walk. Kirstin Wing then loaded the bases with an infield single. Kacy Beloin then hit a single to left, scoring Colby from third. Schack then doubled to the fence in left centerfield, scoring 3 more runs. Danielson then knocked Schack around with a single of her own.
In the 6th more of the same for the Gulls. Labella started it off with a single and advance to second on a sacrifice bunt and then stole third to put her 60 ft. away from scoring yet another Endicott run. Danielson then hit an RBI single. Megan Huckins followed that with a single of her own, and Colby then knocked both of them in on a single. When the dust had cleared, the Gulls had posted 3 more runs, making the score 9-2.
Everyone managed to chip in on the offensive side, but standing out were Schack (1-3, 1 run scored, 3 RBI), Danielson (3-5, 2 runs scored, 2 RBI) and Colby (2-3, 1 run scored, 2 RBI).
The Gulls play next on Wednesday April 7th versus New England College at home.
