In Game 2 of a doubleheader versus the Nor' Easters of the University of New England, Endicott pulled of a 9-1 vicotry. The Gulls did not wait around this game to get going. IN the top of the 1st inning with two outs, Megan Huckins drew a walk. Megan Young singled advancing Huckins to second. Elyse Colby then drew another walk to leave the bases loaded for Adrienne Guzman. Guzman hit the ball to the shortstop, but it was booted and allowed Huckins to score.
The Gulls would add another run in the 2nd on a Jennilee Danielson RBI, to make the score 2-0. In the 3rd inning, Megan Young started it off by reaching 1st base on an error and advancing to second on a passed ball and third on a stolen base. Colby would sacrifice the runner home. Later in the same inning, Nicole Reather scored on a bases loaded walk to Laura Schack.
In the 4th, a single by Colby would score Huckins, making the score 5-0. The big inning that broke it wide open was the 6th. Huckins led off the inning with a triple. Megan Young then drew a walk. Young stole second and Huckins scored on a Colby sacrifice fly. Later in the inning with two runners on, Reather drove them both in with a bases clearing double down the left field line.
Endicott would add one more run in the top of the 7th inning on a Young double. Endicott finished by putting up 9 runs and holding the Nor' Easters to 1. On the mound, Reather pitched another great game upping her record to 4-2. She finished allowing no earned runs on 5 hits and 2 strikeouts. Playing strong defense was 2B Katie Doherty, SS Elyse Colby, and LF Laura Schack.
The Gulls are now 7-5 (4-0 CCC) and will play next Tuesday at home versus Regis College at 2:30pm.
