Game 1
In the first game of today's doubleheader, the Gulls lost a close one 3-1 to University of Southern Maine. Robyn Savitske took the mound for the Gulls and pitched 7 strong innings in the loss. Her record fell to 6-3 after scattering seven hits and 3 earned runs to go along with 2 strikeouts and 2 walks.
The scoring started first for the Gulls in the 2nd inning. Megan Young singled and was followed by Elyse Colby and Nicole Reather walks to load up the bases. Katie Doherty then got a sacrifice fly to score Young. This was the only run the Gulls could muster, but held onto a 1-0 lead.
Southern Maine would get one back in the 6th and inn the 7th, the Huskies would add 2 more and go on to the victory.
Playing well in the loss were Young who was 1-3 with a run scored and Nicole Reather who was 2-2, reaching base three times.
