Game 2
The second game of today's doubleheader was just as exciting as the first. Senior Laura Mangini took the mound in this one and managed to improve her record to 2-1. Mangini gave up 2 earned runs on 7 hits and had 2 strikeouts.
The scoring started for Endicott in the 2nd inning. Elyse Colby walked and advanced to second on an Adrienne Guzman single. Laura Schack then bunted the ball which was overthrown down to first base. This allowed Colby to score and Guzman to advance to third. The error was followed by a Katie Doherty fielder's choice RBI. With Schack now on third, Nicole Reather an RBI single.
In the 4th inning, Britney Hinckley hit a 2 run homerun to tie the score at 3-3. New England College - inning 4
The lead would only last until the bottom of the 5th inning. Huckins reached on a fielder's choice and would score on a Colby double. This proved to be the winning run. Nicole Reather was then brought on in the 7th, to earn her first save of the season.
Colby would finish 1-1 with 2 walks, a run scored and the game-winning RBI double. Guzman had a multi-hit game going 2-3 with a run scored and a triple.
The Gulls improved to 15-6 overall and 11-1 in CCC play. They will play next tomorrow versus Pine Manor (4pm) at Endicott.
