No. 15 Men's Ice Hockey Takes No. 11 UNE To The Brink, 5-4

BIDDEFORD, Maine – The No. 15 nationally ranked Endicott men's ice hockey team fell to No. 11 University of New England (UNE), 5-4, in conference action on Tuesday night at the Harold Alfond Forum.

Zach Mazur (Lancaster, N.Y.)Andrew Kurapov (Corvallis, Ore.), and Kevin Craig (Hyannis, Mass.) all scored in the first two periods of play (P1: 19:23 l P2: 7:02, 15:08) to take a 3-2 advantage into the third, but the Nor'Easters stormed back with three unanswered goals to come away with the eventual 5-4 victory. 

In goal, Conor O'Brien (Pinellas Park, Fla.) stopped 23 shots in the loss (15-5-1 season l 49-17-3 career). 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE 

  • Tonight's matchup marks the eighth time both teams have been nationally ranked at the same time in the all-time series (14 games total).
  • UNE has won six games in a row. 
  • Thomas Albert (Reading, Mass.) potted his first goal of the season (eighth career) with 34 seconds remaining in regulation.
  • Kurapov leads the team in goals (10), assists (11), and points (21) on the year.
  • The Nor'Easters are 8-2-0 at home this season.
