No. 10 Endicott Downs Nichols, 7-2

HARRISVILLE, R.I. — Sophomore forward Connor Beatty (Concord, N.H.) potted four goals to guide the No. 10 nationally ranked Endicott men's ice hockey team past Nichols, 7-2, in conference action on Friday night at Levy Rink.

Beatty's four-goal effort ranks second all-time in program history behind James Winkler's '20 (York, Maine) five-goal performance against Becker on January 25, 2020.

Beatty also dished out one assist in the contest to finish with five points on the night (tied fourth all-time).

Along with Beatty's standout game, the Gulls received tallies from Ryan Gaulin (Kingston, N.H.), Noah Strawn (Wareham, Mass.), and Mitch Shaheen (North Andover, Mass.).

Conor O'Brien (Pinellas Park, Fla.) backstopped the win via 12 saves (7-2-1 overall/41-14-3 career) in 20 minutes of action. Atticus Kelly (St. Paul, Minn.) closed out the final two periods for the Gulls behind four saves (first collegiate appearance). 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott is 11-4-0 all-time against Nichols, which includes an eight-game winning streak dating back to 11/10/2018.
  • The Gulls have outscored the Bison 39-15 during that eight-game span (three OT victories).
  • Endicott improved to 5-1-0 on the road this season.

WHAT'S NEXT

No. 10 Endicott (8-2-1, 6-2-1 CCC) travels to Colby on Tuesday, January 4 at 7 PM. Nichols (2-8-1, 1-8-0 CCC) will play Tufts on Saturday, January 8 on day one of the Boston Landing Collegiate Invitational at 2:40 PM at the Warrior Ice Arena.
