No. 12 Men’s Ice Hockey Downs Nichols, 4-1

BEVERLY, Mass. – The No. 12 nationally ranked Endicott men's ice hockey team defeated Nichols College, 4-1, on Friday night in conference action at Raymond J. Bourque Arena.

Connor Beatty (Concord, N.H.), Campbell Balk (West Olive, Mich.), Connor Amsley (Carlisle, Pa.), and Timmy Hazelton (Commack, N.Y.) all scored in the victory.

Meanwhile, Conor O'Brien (Pinellas Park, Fla.) made 33 saves to improve to 9-3-1 on the season (43-15-3 career).

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott is 12-4-0 all-time against Nichols.
  • The Gulls have won eight straight meetings versus the Bison (three OT victories).
  • Endicott played 10 minutes on the penalty kill in the first period, but still took a 1-0 lead into intermission (Nichols 0-for-5 PP OPPS, 0-for-8 overall).
  • Balk potted his first goal of the season.
  • Hazelton netted his career goal (19:44, 3rd, empty net).
  • The Gulls scored in every period (13:30-1st | 2:04-2nd | 18:26-3rd | 19:44-3rd, last two empty netters).
