No. 8 Men's Ice Hockey Knocks Off Undefeated No. 13 Curry, 5-2

BEVERLY, Mass. — The No. 8 nationally ranked Endicott men's ice hockey team defeated No. 13 Curry, 5-2, in conference action on Saturday evening at the Raymond J. Bourque Arena.

Andrew Kurapov (Corvallis, Ore.) and Mitch Shaheen (North Andover, Mass.) both scored twice to highlight the Gulls in the win.

Endicott also saw Derek Contessa (Freehold, N.J.) bury his fourth goal of the season at the 10:31 mark of the second period to give the hosts a 2-1 lead at the time.

From there, Shaheen (9:06, 18:24, both shorthanded) and Kurapov (10:37) scored three unanswered goals to seal the win after Curry evened the score at 2-2 just 3:26 into the third.

Meanwhile, Conor O'Brien (Pinellas Park, Fla.) recorded 30 saves, bumping his record to 6-2-1 on the season.

BEYOND THE BOX 

  • Endicott is 11-4-0 in the all-time series against Curry.
  • The Gulls are 3-1-1 at Bourque Arena this season.
  • Shaheen's two shorthanded goals in a single game are a program record.

Endicott (7-2-1, 4-2-1 CCC) travels to Nichols on Friday, Decemeber 10 at 7:40 PM. Curry (8-1-1, 6-1-1 CCC) visits Salve Regina  on Saturday, Decmber 11 at 7 PM.
